hi and hello

2011 is over and my movie watching for the year is over too. for a while it was movie and nothing else but movies, however things slowed and i ended up with 416 viewed. will tell about my views and choose my favorite. as i’ve told once before i do not give stars or thumbs to movies, if i extra like a film it gets a 5.0 which is the best i can give one. there were 16 movies in 2011 that i gave a 5.0 to. they were: 127 hours / 13 assassins / brighton rock / captain america / catfish / drive / fast five / hanna / i saw the devil / the king’s speech / north face / rango / source code / tangled / the tree of life / thor. each took me some place i liked. it really is
hard to pick one as the best but if i was given the chance to see just one again i would pick 13 assassins directed by takashi miike which was amazing to watch on a big screen. drive and tree of life were right behind it and rango gets honorable mention. so there were 400 other movies that ranged from 4.9 to 1.0. two of them shared the worst this year both getting 1.0, they were: gulliver’s travels / prehistoric women. tcm gets the blame for showing prehistoric and jack black gets the blame for making gulliver’s. the worst would be gulliver’s travels. the green hornet was given a 1.1 and looking back deserved a 1.0 too but once i’ve given a score it has to stick. whether i watched movies on netflix [146], saw them at theaters [64], via dvd [2], paid through ppv [9], saw on my premium channels hbo or starz [2], watched with the help of a dvr [170], full movie-ed through imdb [8] or viewed while donating at the red cross [15] i had a good movie year. 2011 is over and i got to see 416 movies, i doubt i will ever again find the time to watch 400 movies in a year. still i look forward to movie watching in 2012 and finding the time to blog about them. i dont think a person can ever see enough movies, i know i cant. yup yup yup. signed: meken47.
416 — wow! That’s certainly more than I pulled last year (and I still have to see 13 Assassins). Cathie sent me, by the way, nice blog — I wonder if she got her use of “yup” from you.
It certainly appears she got her love of movie-watching from you. Anyway, happy new year and happy new movies!
thanks and thanks / cathie taught me to use yup / its a great word to share / yup yup yup [thanks again]
